Tips for Your Summer Wedding Photos and How to Beat the Heat
No bride wants to appear in in her summer wedding photos covered in sweat, with disheveled hair and melted makeup. Though Minnesota typically does not see scorching summer temperatures like other states, Minnesota does have its share of warm days and sticky summer afternoons. You don't have to scrap your plans for a summer wedding and get married in the dead of winter to avoid having a melted wedding party forever immortalized in your wedding photos. Use the following tips to help you create photographic memories that will last a lifetime and always bring happiness when you see them.
Choose the Right Venue For Your Summer Wedding Photos
Venue choice goes a long way in ensuring that you have beautiful wedding photos without a lot of effort. If you choose to stage your photos in the middle of a forest or out on a lake in your boat during the hottest part of the summer, you are most likely going to end up with a sweaty, angry bridal party that doesn't photograph well. You don't have to hide in a cave or a stuffy indoor venue to beat the heat. Choose a venue that lends itself to shade and cool breezes. A spot near a large, clean, flowing body of water can be a great choice.
Choose the Right Date
Again, if you decide to schedule your photos for the hottest day of the year, and have everyone pose for pictures in the middle of a field during the hottest part of the day, it's not likely that you will be able to avoid having a hot, sticky bridal party. This will show in your photos, as will the less-than-cheerful attitudes of your bridal party. We realize that sometimes the date can't be changed. If you must have your photos done in the hottest part of the year, refer to the previous tip and choose your venue wisely.
Choose the Right Time of Day
This tip goes hand-in-hand with the previous tip. If you must have your wedding photos done during the hottest days of the year, consider doing an early-morning photo shoot to beat the heat of the day. You can also schedule your photos for sunset, but keep in mind that the mosquitoes and other insects like to come out at sunset. You don't want to turn your bridal party into a buffet for the local insect population.
Choose the Right Photographer
The photographer you choose is one of the most important aspects of the entire photo shoot. You definitely want a photographer that is talented and has lots of experience with wedding photo shoots in all seasons. You should also choose a photographer that is attentive to your needs and the needs of other members of your bridal party and family.
